textCommerce has launched!!

Welcome to textCommerce – the new global flat rate SMS alerts service for Magento.

textCommerce allows retailers worldwide to send their customers order status updates via SMS when orders are dispatched, placed, placed on hold or when their status changes to a custom defined state. These messages can pull in dynamic information such as shipment tracking numbers, customer names or product names.

Additionally, the service allows retailers to send up to 100 ’store contacts’ a daily sales update via SMS. This can contain the number of orders taken that day, their total value and the stores performance day-on-day (e.g. up 2% on yesterday).

textCommerce also allows retailers to display a simple ‘Sign up for an alert when this item is back in stock’ form on their out of stock products. Using this form, customers can receive instant notifications as soon as a product is put back into stock on a retailers website. The key advantage here over the built in ‘email notifications’ system in Magento is that to receive an alert the user does not need to be a registered customer, and does not need to log into their account. Instead, the customer is simply asked to enter their name, telephone number and select their country.
